The Lakers officially have officaily used the amnesty clause on forward Metta World Peace. The Lakers still have to pay the remainder of MWP's slalary but the remaining $7.7 million left will not count against the Lakers in 2013-14. "It's tough to say goodbye to a player such as Metta, who has been a significant part of our team the past four seasons. For anyone who's had the opportunity to get to know him, it's impossible not love him," Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak added. In Game 7 of the 2010 Finals, World Peace hit a clutch 3 to give the Lakers a 6 point margin over the Boston Celtics. Metta after Game 7 in 2010, brought a box of Wheaties for celebration.Metta also auctioned off the ring he won in 2010. Who can also forget the game winning lay-up against Phoenix in the Western Conferance Finals in 2010. The best for last. Who can ever forget when Metta World Peace, elbowed James Harden.
Metta World Peace sent out a series of tweets:
"Mitch Called me first.. Thanks."
"I'm going to play for Yao Mings team in china! I can't wait to arrive in Shanghai !!"
"I'm playing for the LA kings" "I'm retiring and playing hockey".
